Mini Masters (Ages 4-6)       4:30pm-5:30pm

Using more than just a pencil and markers to create, this class helps your little master experience new mediums they have never worked with and give them confidence in materials they use all the time. They will also be learning safety with materials and how to care for these creative tools.

Mini masters will be working with paints, pastels, stamps, collage, pencil crayons and 3D materials. Each week will introduce them to a new way of combining mediums while they create a beautiful piece of work to bring home!

 

Exploring Landscapes: Natural & Human-Made (Ages 8-12)     5:30pm-7:00pm

In this course, students will delve into both traditional and contemporary methods for capturing the beauty of natural landscapes and human-made environments through painting and drawing.

By working on fundamental skills such as composition, perspective, en plein air, and landscape-specific color theory, alongside diverse artistic styles like impressionism, expressionism, realism, and pointillism, students will develop the skills to depict landscapes and buildings like never before. From rugged wilderness to bustling cityscapes, students will explore a diverse range of landscape scenes.

Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to experiment with various painting and drawing mediums. Lessons are tailored to meet each student where they are and to give them the confidence to improve with every piece.

 

Advanced Exploring Landscapes: Natural & Human-Made (Ages 12-16+) 7:00pm-8:30pm

By mastering fundamental elements such as composition, perspective, en plein air, and landscape-specific color theory, alongside diverse artistic styles like impressionism, expressionism, realism, and pointillism, students will develop the skills to depict landscapes and buildings with technical precision and personal expression. From rugged wilderness to bustling cityscapes, students will explore a diverse range of landscape scenes.

Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to experiment with various painting and drawing mediums, with lessons tailored to accommodate each individuals unique artistic style and aspirations.

 

Thursday 4:30pm – 7:30pm

 

Mixed Media & 3D Sculpting (Ages 7-12)             4:30pm-6:00pm

The ultimate media class. Students will be working with acrylic, water colour, oil pastels, pencil crayons, clay and more! Learn how to combine multiple mediums in one piece, work with clay tools and how to create different forms in 2 and 3 dimensions.

With projects that combine different materials students will be learning which materials they like, which mediums they work best in and which areas they need more confidence in. Students will need clothes they don’t mind getting messy as paper and canvas may not be the only thing all these materials are getting on. However, the things students will be creating is worth all of the mess.

 

Anime, Cartooning & Illustration (Ages 8-14)      6:00pm-7:30pm

Create drawings just like the characters you watch on tv shows and read about in books. During this class you will be learning anatomy, proportion, expressions, attitudes and the stylization to make your drawings look just like your favourite characters!

How to Draw People, Animals & Fantasy Characters (Ages 7-14)         10:30am-12:00pm

Exploring human and animal forms, How to Draw People, Animals and Fantasy Characters focuses on developing each student’s personal drawing style – through the study and application of structure, proportion, and anatomy.

Examples of lessons include: drawing human or elf portraits, learning the correct proportion for drawing horses, unicorns, cats and dragons and creating interesting. All while combining this knowledge into creating your very own unique and believable creature designs.

In addition to pencil and ink, mediums such as oil-based pastels and water colour will be introduced, helping students to transform their original drawings into beautiful vibrant works of art.

Claymation and Character Creation (Ages 9-14+)           12:00pm-1:30pm

Explore the world of Stop-Motion film making through various techniques such as Claymation and paper cut outs. Through exercises, students will learn the principles of animation as well as storyboarding to bring their ideas to life. Students will refine their creative problem solving skills through the imaginative process of building miniature sets and characters.

Requirements for this course: Must have a phone or tablet with the app “Stop Motion Studio” downloaded as well as a stand or tabletop tripod for your device.
