Welcome To Our After School Program 2025 – 2026

The Oakville Academy for the Arts is pleased to offer a new and unique After-School Program. We pride ourselves on our programming, Faculty and Facilities, and this After-School option will be no different. Our teachers are university educated, have up to date police checks on file, are passionate about the arts and teaching, and are here to ensure a positive experience for your child. As always, our ratios will be industry leading. Below you will find further information about our After-School Program and attached is our Registration Form. 

 

*In the event of a health pandemic, or government shut down, the cancellation policy (outlined below) will still be in effect for the duration of the shutdown: 30 days written notice is required by the 15th of the month and the initial deposit placed is non-refundable

TRANSPORTATION

The OAA After-School Program will pick up our students at designated schools (determined by early registration) and transport them by fully licensed and insured drivers to our studio where they will be greeted by our incredibly warm and friendly Faculty including our After-School administrative team.

ARRIVAL

Upon arrival, students will be signed in and will place their belongings in the After-School room. Children will be screened prior to entry and placed in small cohorts which will be the same week over week. After washing their hands and settling in, they will a nutritious after-school snack. Food allergies and preferences will be taken into account when planning daily snacks.

 

ACTIVITIES

After-school students will be provided with time for homework support, independent reading, or an artistic activity of their choosing. Everyday a Fine Arts workshop will be offered to After-School students. They have the choice of participating in the workshop, or they can select another activity including group sing along, musical theatre, hip hop dance class, or drama. There will also be a monitored quiet area for those who need some extra relaxation time after school. 

Children who sign up for additional programs in Dance, Art or Private Music classes will be escorted by a teacher or member of administration at the time of their class. When they are finished their specialty classes they will be picked up by a teacher or member of administration and returned back to the After-School program to resume activities, awaiting pick-up. Dance, Art and Private Music classes are scheduled separately at an additional fee through the Front Desk. 

 

PICK UP

At the end of the day, to make parent pick-up a more organized and enjoyable experience there will be a separate phone line to either text or call when you are approaching the Academy. Once a teacher or member of the administrative team has received your call/text, we will prepare your child for dismissal, gathering all belongings and daily art projects. They will then be escorted to your car, to make this time of day as convenient as possible. Parents are free to pick-up their child at any time before 6:00pm, however, after this time it is considered a late pick up.

 

FEES

Fees are paid monthly on the first of each month. We offer a Full Time After-School Program (5 days/week) and Part Time (1-4 days/week) programs.

Upon registration for this program, a deposit of $289.99 and your first month is required. Please note that this deposit of $289.99 will be processed and used towards your last month of fees for the year and is non-refundable or transferable.

Students wishing to partake in Dance, Art and Private Music Lessons will receive discounted prices. Please note that this pricing is ONLY applicable to those students enrolled in the After-School program.

 

LATE PICK-UP POLICY

Our hours of After-School operation are reflective of the community need. If you anticipate being late, please make arrangements for alternate pick up and notify a teacher or member of the administrative team so that we can make note of it. This way we can ensure a safe and convenient dismissal for each student. In being mindful and respectful of our staff’s work schedules, we expect children to be picked up on time. Families who arrive after the 6:00pm pick up time will be required to pay a late fee. Our late fee is levied at a rate of $15.00 for every 15-munute increment, starting at 1 minute past the program end time (6:00pm).

For example: 6:01pm – 6:15pm = $15.00

6:16pm – 6:30pm = $30.00

*Frequent late pick up can result in termination of care*

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event that you would like to discontinue your child’s involvement in the After-School program, we require 30 days written notice by the 15th day of the month. Your initial deposit placed when registering is non-refundable.
